IVI Volunteer Application Process
Ready to become a volunteer abroad with Involvement Volunteers International? It’s really easy! Here is an overview of the application process.
As one of the longest running volunteer travel companies, IVI will support you on your incredible volunteering journey, throughout the entire process. Volunteering abroad has never been easier!
How to apply:
Step 1
Choose Project & Submit Application
Here's the exciting part...choosing your volunteer project abroad! If you are not sure which country or program is right for you, find your project match below.
Once you've decided, simply head to the application page and input your details. Your personal information is always protected and covered by our privacy policy.
Receive placement approval by email (normally within 12-24 hours).
We’ll immediately assess your application for suitability for the placement and liaise with international contacts to confirm availability (sometimes longer depending on the placement). The email will confirm acceptance onto the project and instructions for paying the deposit to secure the booking.

Step 2
Secure Your Booking
You'll need to pay a non-refundable deposit of USD $275, which covers all of your pre-departure support and secures your spot on the project. There is a volunteer cap on projects, so ensure you don't miss out by doing this straight away!
After making payment via paypal, you’ll receive a payment receipt via email.
Approx 24 hours later, you’ll receive an invoice via email outlining your confirmed placement details and final payment due date. The invoice will include instructions on how to pay the balance via paypal which is due 33 days prior to departure.

Step 3
Prepare & Pay Balance
Now that you have secured your sport, it's time to start preparing for your trip!
You can talk to the volunteer manager at any time, and they will help with any questions you have regarding your upcoming trip.
Now is the time to book your flights, insurance, visas and any travel vaccines you may need.
The remaining balance, via paypal, is due 33 days prior to departure (instructions via email).

Receive Welcome Pack
After the final payment is made, your volunteer manager will send your Country Welcome Pack which includes all the placement details including addresses, contact info, project details, local customs, dress code and much more!
Remember you can contact your volunteer manager at any time!
*Travel Insurance is a necessity for volunteering with IVI. This is covered in the Terms & Conditions.

From start to finish, your volunteer manager will be there to help. From helping you to pick a program right for you, to advice on flights, project details, destination, and what to expect on placement... we are here for you!
We have first-hand experience of volunteering abroad, so are in a great position to deliver knowledgeable advice and reassurance.
